چکیده

For many thermal processes described by partial differential equations, parametric identification of the model can be performed by solving an inverse problem. Measurements noises occurring on one or several measured characteristic states have to be carefully taken into account in order to provide robust identification procedures. However, spatial inaccuracy of the sensor location is rarely investigated. In this paper, a thermal process is presented in order to study the effect of this class of measurement noises on identification robustness. Then the problem of optimal location of the sensor is stated. Copyright © 2002 IFAC

Mixed convection fluid flow and heat transfer and optimal distribution of discrete heat sources location in a cavity filled with nanofluid

Mixed convection fluid flow and heat transfer of water-Al2O3 nanofluid inside a lid-driven square cavity has been examined numerically in order to find the optimal distribution of discrete heat sources on the wall of a cavity. The effects of different heat source length, Richardson number and Grashof number on optimal heat source location has been investigated. Moreover, the average Nusselt num...

Optimal Sensors Location Using Modal Assurance Criterion in Modal Identification of Concrete Gravity Dams

Determination of the optimal sensors location in order to identify of modal parameters, especially in large structures such as dams, is one of the practical issues, which is widely used in damage detection and structural health monitoring. The main objective of this study is to obtain the most information from the dynamic response in a concrete gravity dam by minimizing the non-diagonal element...

Development of a Moving Finite Element-Based Inverse Heat Conduction Method for Determination of Moving Surface Temperature

A moving finite element-based inverse method for determining the temperature on a moving surface is developed. The moving mesh is generated employing the transfinite mapping technique. The proposed algorithms are used in the estimation of surface temperature on a moving boundary with high velocity in the burning process of a homogenous low thermal diffusivity solid fuel. The measurements obtain...

Optimal Pareto Parametric Analysis of Two Dimensional Steady-State Heat Conduction Problems by MLPG Method

Numerical solutions obtained by the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method are presented for two dimensional steady-state heat conduction problems. The MLPG method is a truly meshless approach, and neither the nodal connectivity nor the background mesh is required for solving the initial-boundary-value problem. The penalty method is adopted to efficiently enforce the essential boundary co...

Rotating magneto-thermoelastic rod with finite length due to moving heat sources via Eringen’s nonlocal model

The article is concerned with a new nonlocal model based on Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity and generalized thermoelasticity. A study is made of the magneto-thermoelastic waves in an isotropic conducting thermoelastic finite rod subjected to moving heat sources permeated by a primary uniform magnetic field and rotating with a uniform angular velocity. The Laplace transform technique with respect ...
